Find out more details about us at Objectives of this Role The Quantity Surveyor (QS) is involved in all stages of project development and delivery to ensure that all policies of the client are fully complied with. The QS will optimise project expenditure by adding value to the construction process by proactive involvement in procurement, cost management and reporting with the highest ethical standards. The QS shall have responsibility assisting the GM with cost estimating, budgeting, and supporting the contract administrator in preparing and reviewing advice concerning all cost related issues for assigned projects. Responsibilities ➢ Prepare detailed quantity for Structural and Civil works, from drawings and specifications; ➢ Perform detailed review of contract specifications and drawings to identify errors, discrepancies and/or ambiguities; ➢ Maintain current construction cost data based on historical costs, market research, ➢ Prepare a quantity variance report at various stages of cost planning, including bid analysis and cost reduction strategies; Other duties as assigned/required
•Undertake feasibility studies, Rate Analysis / DATAs.
•Prepare and analyse costings for tenders, tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
•Budget preparation
•Client bills, Variations, Extra Items, Sub-contractors Work orders, bills & payment certification
•Study & Implementation of Contract conditions
•Extensive Knowledge in Government / Railway / Road projects
•Quantity & Material reconciliations
•Advise on a procurement strategy
•Proficiency in AutoCAD and hands on experience in Road Estimator.
•Allocate work to subcontractors, assess value of completed work and arrange payments.
•Provide advice on contractual claims
•Analyse outcomes and write detailed progress reports
•Understand the implications of health and safety regulations. Skills and Qualifications
•A minimum BE/BTech in Civil qualification
•5 - 7 years' Experience in Road / Railway construction
•Proficient in contract administration
•Competent user of Excel/ MS Project
•Sound analytical and problem solving ability
•Ability to be highly organised
•Well-developed written and verbal communication skills in English
