Job Title: Senior Engineer – Quantity Surveyor (QS)

Location: Site / Project Location

Department: Projects / QS

Reporting To: Project Manager / Head – QS

Job Summary:

The Senior Engineer – QS will be responsible for managing all quantity surveying activities at the project site, including quantity take-offs, billing, cost control, material reconciliation, and coordination with clients, contractors, and the project team. The role requires strong technical knowledge, analytical skills, and the ability to ensure accurate measurement and timely billing.

Key Responsibilities:1. Quantity Measurement & Estimation

  • Prepare detailed quantity take-offs from drawings and site measurements.
  • Verify contractor measurements and quantities.
  • Prepare estimates, BOQs, and cost forecasts.

2. Billing & Documentation

  • Prepare and submit running and final bills for clients.
  • Verify subcontractor/vendor bills and ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain all QS records including MBs, RA bills, deviation statements, etc.

3. Cost Control & Monitoring

  • Monitor project budgets and actual expenditures.
  • Track variances and provide timely cost-related alerts.
  • Prepare cost-to-complete and cash flow projections.

4. Contracts & Coordination

  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, and internal teams for approvals.
  • Assist in contract management, rate analysis, and claims.
  • Support in tendering activities, including rate verification and comparison.

5. Material Reconciliation

  • Reconcile material consumption with site execution.
  • Verify wastage norms and highlight deviations.
  • Prepare reconciliation reports periodically.

6. Reporting

  • Prepare weekly/monthly QS reports.
  • Provide timely updates on work progress, billing status, and cost impacts.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for audits and reviews.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of quantity surveying and construction engineering.
  • Expertise in BOQ preparation, rate analysis, and billing.
  • Good understanding of drawings, IS codes, and construction practices.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and QS-related software.
  • Excellent analytical, coordination, and communication skills.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Qualification: B.Tech / Diploma in Civil Engineering
  • Experience: 6–10 years in QS role in construction/infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in site QS and client billing is essential.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25, ₹65,725.73 per month
