Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  1. Client Engagement

  2. Work with prospects and clients to understand business needs, challenges, and desired outcomes.

  3. Conduct discovery sessions, requirement gathering, and solution workshops.

  4. Solution Architecture

  5. Translate business needs into scalable Salesforce architecture (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Experience Cloud, CPQ, etc.).

  6. Design high-level solution blueprints, integrations, and data models.

  7. Ensure alignment with Salesforce best practices and technical governance.

  8. Pre-Sales Activities

  9. Support RFPs/RFIs by preparing responses, solution diagrams, and architecture decks.

  10. Deliver compelling product demos and proof-of-concepts (POCs).
  11. Estimate effort, complexity, and costs for proposed Salesforce solutions.

  12. Work closely with account executives and sales teams to shape deals.

  13. Thought Leadership

  14. Stay updated with Salesforce ecosystem innovations (AI, Data Cloud, MuleSoft, Slack).

  15. Guide clients on Salesforce roadmap and strategic adoption.

  16. Present at webinars, workshops, or customer events as a Salesforce expert.

  17. Collaboration

  18. Partner with delivery teams to ensure proposed solutions are feasible and implementable.

  19. Work with partners and ISVs to recommend accelerators or third-party solutions.

Required Skills

  • Deep expertise in Salesforce architecture, including declarative and programmatic features.
  • Strong understanding of integration patterns, security, data migration, and scalability.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills (to engage both business and technical stakeholders).
  • Ability to build trust quickly and influence client decisions.
  • Experience with pre-sales processes: proposals, estimates, and solution demos.

Typical Background

  • 10+ years in Salesforce ecosystem (consulting/architecture roles).
  • Experience as a Salesforce Solution Architect, Technical Architect, or Lead Consultant before moving into pre-sales.
  • Salesforce certifications such as Application Architect, System Architect, or CTA (Certified Technical Architect) are highly valued.
  • Exposure to industry-specific Salesforce solutions (Financial Services Cloud, Health Cloud, etc.) is a plus.
