Job Description:

Position: Lead Instructor - UAV Systems

Location: Bangalore

Experience: 7-12 Years

Role Overview:

We are seeking an accomplished UAV professional to join us as Lead Instructor. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in UAV piloting, operations management, and training development, along with strong leadership skills to guide teams and elevate operational excellence. This role involves overseeing flight operations, developing training programs, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and serving as a mentor and instructor for internal and external UAV operators.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage UAV flight operations, ensuring mission readiness, operational efficiency, and adherence to safety standards.
  • Design, develop, and deliver advanced training programs for UAV pilots, operators, and technical staff, tailored for both internal teams and end-users.
  • Conduct UAV test flights, simulator training, and proficiency assessments to maintain high pilot competency standards.
  • Drive operational process improvements by preparing and refining SOPs, Checklists, and Flight Operations Protocols (FOPs).
  • Lead accident investigations, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement corrective measures to strengthen flight safety protocols.
  • Provide technical and operational support across UAV bases and client locations, ensuring seamless mission execution and timely issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and quality, to align operational strategies with organizational goals.
  • Manage and mentor teams, building strong leadership pipelines and fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Coordinate with regulatory authorities, clients, and stakeholders to secure clearances and ensure compliance with aviation standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Aviation / Defense Studies or equivalent; Master's preferred.
  • 12–18 years of professional experience, including significant tenure in UAV piloting, training, and operations management (Defense/DRDO/IAI/Industry background preferred).
  • Proven record in leading UAV missions, safety management, and pilot training programs.
  • Strong understanding of aviation regulations, operational readiness, and mission planning.
  • Hands-on experience with RPA/UAV systems, simulators, and flight data analysis.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
