Role Overview

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Consultant with a strong background in aerospace or robotics to support the design and development of next-generation UAV platforms. This role involves working closely with our engineering team to conceptualize, model, and validate mechanical systems that meet high-performance and reliability standards.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and contribute to the mechanical design of UAV airframes, payload mounts, and actuation systems.

Develop CAD models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using tools like SolidWorks, CATIA, or Fusion 360.

Perform structural analysis and simulations (FEA) to ensure mechanical integrity under flight conditions.

Collaborate with electronics and software teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical components.

Guide prototyping, fabrication, and testing of mechanical subsystems.

Provide design reviews and documentation for compliance and manufacturing readiness.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.

3+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in UAVs, robotics, or aerospace systems.

Proficiency in CAD software and simulation tools.

Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and lightweight structural design.

Experience with rapid prototyping and iterative design cycles.

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of aerodynamics and flight mechanics.

Familiarity with additive manufacturing and composite materials.

Experience working in R&D or startup environments.

Ability to work independently and mentor junior engineers.
