Role

At aikyam, storytelling means amplifying the voices of change-makers and showcasing the incredible impact of their work. This role offers the opportunity to practice storytelling daily while serving as a bridge between grassroots impact and our supporters.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies
  • Create compelling narratives, email newsletters, and social media content that resonates with diverse audiences
  • Ability to story-tell using podcasts and video interviews will be an advantage
  • Identify powerful field stories and collaborate with teams to bring them to life
  • Produce engaging digital content using platforms like Canva, WordPress, and Ghost
  • Distribute communication materials across multiple digital media platforms
  • Generate content for various channels including websites, newsletters, social media, print, and video
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to develop impactful communication strategies
  • Design visually compelling graphics and layouts for reports, presentations, and promotional materials
  • Maintain consistent brand identity across all platforms
  • Travel to field locations to connect with communities and gather authentic stories

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in communications, storytelling, journalism, or related fields
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to craft simple, human, and impactful stories
  • Curious mindset with strong critical thinking abilities
  • Keen instincts for identifying compelling story angles and asking insightful questions
  • Ability to translate complex concepts into engaging, credible, and relatable narratives
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English (Hindi proficiency is a plus)
  • Proficiency in Canva and familiarity with digital content platforms
  • Basic video, audio editing skills
  • Collaborative team player who works effectively across functions and cultures
  • Social awareness and genuine interest in the development sector
  • Willingness to travel to field locations
