About the Role

Citykart is urgently hiring a talented and dynamic Design Lead / Design Manager (PD) to head our product development team. This role requires strong design leadership, hands-on creativity, and the ability to develop trend-driven and commercially successful collections across Menswear, Womenswear, and Kidswear.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the apparel design team across Men's, Ladies', and Kids' categories.
  • Conduct trend forecasting, customer research, and competitor analysis to develop relevant and appealing collections.
  • Create seasonal lines that deliver strong aesthetics, fit, fabric quality, and commercial value.
  • Translate fashion trends into customer-driven and market-ready apparel designs.
  • Work closely with Merchandising, PD, and Pre-Production teams for seamless product execution.
  • Oversee vendor relationships, sampling approvals, and quality alignment.
  • Ensure brand identity and consistency across all categories.
  • Mentor the design team to maximize creativity, productivity, and performance.
  • Maintain strict timelines and handle budgets efficiently.

Eligibility & Qualifications

  • Graduate from NIFT / Pearl Academy / NIFD (Preferred).
  • 6–7 years of total experience, with 2–3 years in a similar leadership role.
  • Must have worked across all divisions – Mens, Ladies, and Kids.
  • Experience in value retail or similar chain of stores will be a strong advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, trims, and fashion trends.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and relevant design tools.
  • Strong leadership, creativity, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.
