Roles & Responsibilities:
• Agile software delivery process using JIRA (including breaking down work into modular tasks, updating/tracking task status/work log entries for sprint management), Git (source code management including branching strategy, code review, pull requests), automated unit testing in a high velocity continuous delivery environment.
• Proactively communicate and collaborate with the lead and senior backend engineers to understand low-level architecture and deliver the scalable microservices platform
• Effectively utilize cloud services like compute, storage, networking, containerization etc. from major providers (AWS or Azure) in developing backend microservices
Qualifications
• BTech/BS or MTech/MS in Computer Science or related degree from an accredited university
• 1+ years hands-on experience designing, developing and deploying backend applications with NodeJS and associated frameworks like , SQL/NoSQL databases like MySQL/MongoDB
• Experience in implementation of server-side business logic and databases with scientifically grounded programming techniques
• Automated unit testing with frameworks like Mocha/Chai, Jest or Jasmine
• Experience in employing and integrating cloud services (Azure or AWS) in backend applications
• Experience in designing, building and managing REST APIs with tools like Postman and Swagger
• Implementing authentication techniques like JWT/OAuth2 and authorization techniques like IBAC/RBAC between multiple services and platform components
• Experience working in microservices environment and containerizing applications with Docker/Kubernetes
• Understands SDLC, requirements and specifications engineering, development, integration, software testing, and deployment
• Experience with Kafka, Redis, Elasticsearch, GraphQL is a plus
