
Sr. Sales Manager – International Business Genset

Job Title: Sr. Sales Manager International Business (Genset Division)
Department: International Business
Location: Mumbai, India
Reporting To: JMD
To lead and grow international sales for the Genset division from the Mumbai office by identifying new business opportunities, managing key international clients and distributor networks, and ensuring effective execution of overseas orders across target markets such as Africa and Southeast Asia.
Key Responsibilities:
1. International Sales & Business Development
- Generate and convert leads across targeted export markets (Africa & Southeast Asia, etc.).
- Promote a full range of gensets (diesel, gas, hybrid) based on customer requirements.
- Prepare commercial offers, negotiate contracts, and close high-value deals.
2. Market Expansion & Channel Development
- Identify and appoint international dealers, distributors, and channel partners.
- Conduct market research and competitor benchmarking to identify trends and opportunities.
- Plan and execute market entry and penetration strategies for new territories.
3. Client & Stakeholder Management
- Maintain strong working relationships with international clients, EPC contractors, consultants, and government bodies.
- Regular follow-up on project pipelines, RFQs, and tender participations.
- Represent the company at international trade shows, exhibitions, and client meetings.
4. Coordination & Execution
- Work closely with internal teams (engineering, production, logistics, documentation, finance) to ensure timely order fulfilment and export compliance.
- Coordinate pre-shipment inspections, certifications, and export documentation.
5. Strategic Sales Planning & Reporting
- Create and manage monthly/quarterly international sales forecasts and budgets.
- Track regional performance against KPIs and provide regular management reports.
- Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to guide product development and strategy.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical) or Business; MBA preferred.
- 510 years of international sales experience in gensets or related power solutions.
- Strong technical knowledge of gensets, applications, ratings, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience in export markets including Africa and South Asia is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with international trade laws, INCO terms, and export documentation.
- Proficient in MS Office and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, Zoho).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel internationally as required.
