About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled
Senior Power BI Analyst
with deep expertise in
DAX (Data Analysis Expressions)
to join our growing analytics team. This role requires not just strong technical ability in Power BI, but also the ability to design scalable data models, optimize complex DAX calculations, and deliver impactful dashboards that drive decision-making.

The ideal candidate has experience working with
large datasets, complex business logic, and enterprise-level BI solutions
, while collaborating with cross-functional teams including business stakeholders, data engineers, and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Power BI Development

  • Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI.
  • Create
    optimized, reusable, and scalable DAX measures
    for advanced business calculations.
  • Develop and maintain
    data models
    (star schema, snowflake, composite models) to support reporting needs.

DAX Expertise & Performance Optimization

  • Write complex DAX queries and measures for KPIs, time intelligence, and custom business logic.
  • Optimize DAX code to improve query performance, reduce refresh times, and handle large datasets efficiently.
  • Troubleshoot performance issues using
    DAX Studio, Tabular Editor, and VertiPaq Analyzer
    .

Data Modeling & ETL

  • Collaborate with data engineering teams to design efficient ETL pipelines and dataflows
    .
  • Ensure
    data integrity, accuracy, and consistency
    across reports.
  • Apply advanced techniques like
    row-level security (RLS), incremental refresh, calculation groups, and parameterized reports
    .

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with business teams to translate requirements into technical designs and BI solutions.
  • Provide
    ad-hoc analysis and insights
    to support strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Mentor junior developers on Power BI best practices and DAX coding standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Expertise

  • 5+ years of experience as a Power BI Developer or BI Developer.
  • Advanced proficiency in DAX
    (time intelligence, advanced filters, dynamic calculations, context transitions).
  • Strong knowledge of
    Power Query (M language), SQL, and relational database concepts
    .
  • Experience with
    enterprise data modeling, RLS, calculation groups, and performance tuning
    .
  • Proficiency with
    DAX Studio, Tabular Editor, ALM Toolkit, and Performance Analyzer
    .

Business & Communication

  • Ability to understand business processes
    and translate them into BI solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Bonus Skills

  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Lake, Synapse, or Databricks
    .
  • Familiarity with other BI tools (SSRS, Tableau, Qlik) is a plus.
  • Background in
    finance, construction, or ERP reporting
    is an advantage.
