About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Workday Finance Functional Consultant to join our implementation team. The consultant will play a critical role in leading workshops with business stakeholders, configuring Workday Financials, and managing end-to-end data conversion activities. This is a highly client-facing role that requires strong communication, problem-solving, and hands-on configuration skills.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design & Workshops

· Lead workshops with business and IT stakeholders to gather requirements and design solutions.

· Document business processes, functional requirements, and solution design.

· Provide strategic guidance on Workday Finance capabilities, best practices, and industry trends.

· Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for Workday Finance modules during the project lifecycle.

2. Workday Configuration

· Configure Workday Finance modules including (but not limited to):

· General Ledger

· Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable

· Banking & Settlement

· Procurement

· Expenses

· Financial Accounting & Reporting

· Set up business processes, security, integrations, and reporting as per design.

· Conduct unit testing, regression testing, and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

· Troubleshoot and resolve configuration-related issues.

3. Data Conversion & Migration

· Develop and execute the data conversion strategy for Finance modules.

· Define data mapping rules and partner with technical teams for extract, transform, and load (ETL).

· Perform validation and reconciliation of migrated financial data.

· Support multiple data conversion cycles, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

4. Project Support & Collaboration

· Partner with cross-functional teams including HCM, Payroll, and Integrations.

· Provide end-user support, training, and knowledge transfer.

· Ensure deliverables are on time, within scope, and aligned with project goals.

· Support post-production activities, enhancements, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

· 10+ years of experience as a Workday Finance Functional Consultant.

· Strong configuration experience in at least 2–3 core Workday Finance modules.

· Proven expertise in data conversion and reconciliation for Workday Finance.

· Demonstrated ability to lead client workshops and design sessions.

· Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

· Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

· Workday Finance certification(s).

· Experience with full lifecycle Workday Finance implementations.

· Familiarity with integrations (EIB, Core Connectors, Studio) for financial data.

· Knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting standards, or prior accounting/finance background.

· Experience working in consulting or professional services environments.
