About Us:

We are building our own UPI-based digital payments system. This role is critical in helping us navigate RBI and NPCI regulations, partner with banks, and design the technical architecture for our UPI system.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Regulatory & Compliance

  • Lead the RBI licensing process (Payment Aggregator / PSP / Payment Bank).
  • Liaise with NPCI for UPI PSP approval and compliance audits.
  • Define and implement KYC, AML, and fraud monitoring frameworks.
  • Partner with sponsor banks to ensure smooth settlements and reconciliations.

  • Prepare all documentation and policies for regulatory submissions.

  • Technical & Product Guidance

  • Design UPI system architecture including transaction flows, QR payments, and UPI

ID management.

  • Guide frontend and mobile developers on secure UPI integration.
  • Ensure security measures: encryption, key management, OTP/biometric

verification.

  • Oversee sandbox integration with banks/NPCI and testing of transaction flows.

  • Provide technical input for feature roadmap and user experience.

  • Strategic & Advisory

  • Recommend adoption strategies for users and merchants in target niche.

  • Ensure compliance with RBI/NPCI audits post-launch.
  • Advise on scalable and secure transaction workflows.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Extensive knowledge of UPI, NPCI guidelines, Payment Aggregator / PSP

operations.

  • Experience with RBI compliance, licensing, and digital payment regulations.
  • Familiarity with bank partnerships and settlement workflows.
  • Strong technical understanding of backend payment systems, APIs, and security

protocols.

  • Experience in leading fintech or payments projects.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and documentation skills.

Preferred

  • Prior experience in launching a UPI system, PSP, or payment gateway.
  • Knowledge of mobile app payment integrations (Android/iOS).
  • Network with sponsor banks or NPCI officials.
