We are a fintech start-up based out of Bangalore. We are three founders onto our 2nd innings. All three of us are ex-bankers. Nitin and Viraj are successful entrepreneurs, and Amit is a seasoned banker. We are already profitable, in a path to aggressive growth with good foundations.

We are looking for a Payroll Expert with 2+ years of hands-on experience of handling India payroll to join our team.

Responsibilities:

Manage end-to-end payroll processing for employees across the org

Ensure accurate and timely payment of wages, salaries, and benefits to employees according to local regulations and company policies

Coordinate with HR, finance, and other departments to gather payroll data, such as new hires, terminations, promotions, and salary changes

Review and verify payroll inputs, including timesheets, bonuses, commissions, and deductions, to ensure accuracy and compliance with local tax laws and regulations

Prepare and submit payroll reports, tax filings, and other statutory requirements to relevant authorities in each country

Stay informed about changes in payroll regulations and compliance requirements and update payroll processes accordingly

Handle payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies or issues raised by employees or stakeholders in a timely and professional manner

Collaborate with external payroll service providers, tax advisors, and legal counsel to ensure compliance and address complex payroll matters

Maintain payroll records, documentation, and confidentiality of employee information in compliance with data protection laws and company policies

Preparation of Payroll, Audit and compliance data for all due diligence activities, and maintain records

Responsible for all payroll and employment-related compliances

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field.

2 to 4 years of experience in India payroll processing, experience of a start-up is an advantage

Deep understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements in multiple states within India

Proficiency in payroll software and systems (e.g. Keka) and MS Excel.

Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work with large volumes of data accurately.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
