We are seeking a talented and experienced Machine Design Engineer with a strong background in grinding for the machine tool industry. As a Machine Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing precision grinding machines, optimizing their performance, and ensuring their compliance with industry standards.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in machine design, preferably in the field of grinding.

Responsibilities:

  1. Design and develop precision grinding machines for the machine tool industry, considering factors such as performance, reliability, cost, and manufacturability.

  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, electrical engineering, and quality assurance, to ensure the successful execution of machine design projects.

  3. Conduct feasibility studies and provide technical recommendations for new grinding machine concepts, enhancements, or modifications.

  4. Utilize computer-aided design SOLIDWORKS (CAD) software and other engineering tools to create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and engineering drawings.

  5. Perform engineering calculations, simulations, and analyses to validate the design integrity, performance, and safety of grinding machines.

  6. Specify and select appropriate materials, components, and subsystems for the construction of grinding machines, considering factors such as cost, availability, and performance requirements.

  7. Collaborate with suppliers to evaluate and source machine components, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and quality standards.

  8. Participate in design reviews, prototype testing, and troubleshooting activities to identify and resolve design issues, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality machines.

  9. Support the manufacturing team during the production phase, addressing design-related queries and providing guidance to ensure smooth production and assembly of grinding machines.

Qualifications:

  1. Diploma/bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus.

  2. 2 years of experience in machine design, with a focus on grinding machines within the machine tool industry is an advantage.

  3. Strong knowledge of grinding principles, techniques, and equipment, including grinding wheels, spindles, drives, and controls.

  4. Proficiency in CAD software (such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) for 3D modeling, assembly creation, and engineering drawing generation.

  5. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex design challenges. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and constraints, with experience in designing for manufacturability.

  6. Knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety guidelines for grinding machines.
