Database Administrator

Job Title: Database Administrator (DBA)Location: NoidaExperience: 5 to 10 yearsJob Description:We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with 5 to 10 years of experience to manage and optimize database systems across SQL, NoSQL, and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in database performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security management. This role requires a solid understanding of cloud platforms (preferably Azure or AWS) and the ability to work independently to ensure high availability, security, and performance of databases.

Key Management:Install, configure, and manage SQL (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL) and NoSQL (Cosmos DB, Cassandra) databases. Ensure high availability, security, and performance of database systems. Perform database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.

Performance Tuning:Conduct performance tuning and query optimization for SQL and NoSQL databases. Analyze and resolve bottlenecks to improve database performance. Monitor and manage database resource utilization and cost optimization.

Security and Compliance:Implement and manage database security policies, including access control and encryption. Conduct regular security audits to ensure compliance with standards. Manage data integrity and ensure compliance with GDPR, HIPAA, or other regulations.

Cloud Database Management:Manage and optimize databases on cloud platforms (Azure preferred, AWS exposure is a plus). Utilize Azure Data Lake or similar solutions for handling large datasets. Implement caching solutions using Redis or similar technologies.

Automation and Scripting:Develop Python scripts to automate database tasks, backups, and monitoring. Implement automated alerts for database performance and availability issues. Monitoring and Troubleshooting:Set up monitoring tools for database performance, availability, and security.

Troubleshoot database errors and implement corrective measures promptly. Prepare and maintain database documentation for configurations and policies. Collaboration and Communication:Work closely with DevOps, Developers, and System Administrators to manage database requirements.

Communicate database performance and risk assessments to stakeholders. Participate in Agile/Scrum meetings and contribute to sprint planning. Required Skills and or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator (DBA).

Proven experience in managing SQL databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL). Expertise in NoSQL databases (Cosmos DB, Cassandra). Knowledge of caching solutions like Redis or similar.

Basic knowledge of Azure Cloud (experience with AWS is a plus). Technical Skills:Proficiency in performance tuning and query optimization. Strong understanding of database security, backup, and recovery.

Experience with Azure Data Lake or equivalent is a plus. Python scripting skills for automation of database tasks. Soft Skills:Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent communication and team collaboration skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively. Preferred with data lake architectures and big data technologies.

Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) for database deployment. Certifications in Azure or AWS database management is an salary and performance-based incentives.
