Job Title: Database Administrator

 

  • We are seeking an experienced database administrator to provide day-to-day support and monitoring of Microsoft SQL Server databases.
  • This includes installing, configuring, and maintaining SQL Server instances in production and non-production environments.
  • The ideal candidate will perform database backups, recovery, migration, and restoration activities with ease.
  • Additionally, they will monitor database performance, tune queries, and optimize indexing/partitioning strategies for maximum efficiency.
  • Our team requires a high level of availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning expertise.
  • The successful candidate will manage user access, roles, and security policies to safeguard sensitive data.
  • They will also automate routine tasks using scripts (T-SQL, PowerShell, etc.).
  • This role involves handling incidents, service requests, and root cause analysis for database-related issues.
  • The successful candidate will work closely with application, infrastructure, and cloud teams to support business applications.

 

Required Skills :
  • Strong hands-on experience in SQL Server administration is essential.
  • A solid understanding of backup & recovery strategies, HA/DR solutions, and replication technologies is required.
  • Proficiency in performance tuning, query optimization, and index management is necessary.
  • A good knowledge of Windows Server OS, Active Directory, and networking concepts is expected.
  • Hands-on experience in database security, auditing, and compliance is required.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure SQL, AWS RDS, etc.) is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills are essential.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills are required.

 

To Have :
  • Exposure to NoSQL / other RDBMS (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL) would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of automation frameworks / DevOps tools is desirable.
  • Certifications in Microsoft SQL Server / Azure Database would be advantageous.
