YOUR NEW ROLE

• The Midrange and Engineered Platforms team provides infrastructure support for a range of environments running on non-Windows operating systems (OS) such as RedHat Enterprise Linux, AIX, Solaris, Oracle Linux and Oracle Virtual Machines. The team also support the proprietary Oracle Engineered Systems appliances, including Oracle ExaDatas, Private Cloud Appliances, Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliances, Big Data appliances, and the databases, operating systems and middleware running on these.
• As a Patching Change Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and executing the Midrange patching changes each week, ensuring that patches are applied to meet the bank's Compliance Framework and Risk Policies.

• You will liaise with all required stakeholders to plan and raise the appropriate Change record, create a clear runsheet of implementation tasks, and obtain relevant approvals ahead of execution. During execution, you will coordinate all activities in accordance with the runsheet, and ensure the change is executed without incident or service impact. You will ensure the Midrange Platforms are delivered to an exceptional grade of service for our colleagues and customers.

• Deliver value to the banks customers through secure and available systems.

• Drive simplification and hyper-standardisation with a view to lowering management costs and improving consolidation.
• Work closely with other technical experts to deliver a cohesive/standardised environment.
• Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders to enable the success of complex patching changes.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

• 5+ years experience managing large-scale, complex change
• 5+ years experience in project coordination/management
• Experience working in complex technology environments
• Experience with Service Now

• Experience with Midrange technologies e.g. Linux, Solaris, AIX, Oracle Engineered Systems

• Proven analytical skills and evidence-based decision making

• Excellent problem solving, troubleshooting & documentation skills
• Strong delivery focus with an active approach to quality and auditability
