Business Systems Analyst, Assurant-GCC, India
The position's primary role is to support systems and staff by recommending and implementing system enhancements that promote efficiency, compliance and growth. In addition, this position contributes expertise in business processes and system functionality. The job incumbent will work independently or as part of a project team, coordinating activities or team members on maintenance and project assignments of medium to high complexity. This includes the performance of activities such as requirement definition, research, analysis, coordination,

testing, training and documentation.

This position will be based in Hyderabad at our India location.
Working Hours: 7:00 AM IST - 4:00 PM IST
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

Acts as the customer / IT liaison during analysis, requirements definition and design activities; maintains an understanding of business processes and related systems for supported business units; participates in management of customer expectations, collaborates with business partners to define and document business and functional requirements (e.g. Customer and User Journeys, Functional and Technical Requirements) and collaborates with technical staff to develop solution

alternatives.

Coordinate's testing activities for maintenance and project assignments; identifies testing scope and scenarios, and estimates of effort, duration and resources required; prepares test plans and scripts; performs systems testing of moderate complexity; coordinates testing efforts and activities including test scheduling, results monitoring, feedback and signoffs; coordinates issues tracking and resolution. Applies Assurant IT testing standards, policies, and procedures.

Participates in the Project Management process; contributes to project deliverables including vision documents, status reports, and project, risk, resource and financial plans; communicates status, business impacts and system changes to team members, business partners, sponsors, management and other interested parties.

Provides general customer and IT support for assigned business applications; works with the user and technical staff to identify the source of problems; contributes to development of effective resolutions; maintains system support tables; contributes to technical and business rollout activities by supporting implementations for business units and technical support; contributes to training efforts by writing documentation or manuals, preparing presentations, delivering training, or providing follow-up to training.

Requirements Analysis And Documentation

• Conduct detailed analysis of business and client requirements, creating artifacts such as customer journeys, use cases, workflow schemas, and technical specifications.
• Ensure requirements are clear, unambiguous, feasible, and validated with key stakeholders.
• Eliminate duplication or overlap in documentation and maintain alignment with the strategic technology roadmap.
• Create detailed business process and rules documentation, gathering requirements from business users and getting sign off.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Identify and collaborate with key project stakeholders and workstream leads throughout the project lifecycle.
• Facilitate requirements elicitation through interviews, workshops, surveys, and other methods.
• Challenge stakeholders to ensure requirements align with business objectives and suggest alternatives to achieve cost-effective, efficient solutions.

Governance And Traceability

• Create and maintain a traceability matrix to ensure alignment between requirements and project deliverables.
• Apply robust version control to all documentation, ensuring each iteration is auditable and distinct.
• Oversee governance controls, including risk, change, issue, and dependency management.

Project Support And Risk Management

• Provide a single point of contact between business units and IT/testing teams.
• Act as a subject matter expert throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring effective issue identification and resolution.
• Manage risks with clear mitigation plans and escalate critical issues with actionable recommendations to senior leadership.

Business And Process Improvement

• Participate in root cause analysis of complex problems and recommend system or process improvements to enhance productivity for both business and IT.
• Support testing efforts, when required, by coordinating activities and ensuring alignment with requirements.

What are the requirements needed for this position?
Education
Basic Qualifications Required – Knowledge, Skills & Experiences

• Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent work experience

Previous Experience

• 4 to 6 years of progressive Business Systems Analyst experience in an Information Technology environment
• Proven experience in business system analysis or managing business process re-engineering and defining process improvements.

Knowledge And Skills

• Ability to analyze business problems and propose effective solutions
• Requires a sound understanding of planning, analysis and testing techniques required to support distributed application development
• Requires proficiency in business system design/modeling, documentation and analysis techniques and testing methodologies
• Requires knowledge and experience in project management processes, including project planning and tracking principles, project risk and issues identification, assessment, tracking and mitigation
• Strong documentation skills, ensuring clear, concise, and audience appropriate deliverables (experience with tools like Miro/Visio is a plus).
• Requires understanding of capabilities, features and limitations of system development tools and the solutions built on the technology stacks
• Project Management and/or Business Systems Analyst Certification a plus
• Ability to estimate, plan, schedule, organize, coordinate, and execute activities
• Ability to effectively manage multiple assignments and priorities
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to management, team members, business and technology professionals
• Ability to analyze complex business problems, propose effective solutions and understand and apply business vision and direction
• Ability to apply broad business knowledge and practical experience to the analysis/solution generation process
