Role & responsibilities

  • Develop CNC programs for turning operations using G-code, M-code, or CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360).
  • Operate CNC machines.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and 3D models.
  • Optimize tool paths and cutting conditions for efficiency and quality.
  • Modify and fine-tune programs at the machine if needed.
  • Set up CNC turning machines, including chucking, tooling, and offsets.
  • Install and align cutting tools, Workholding fixtures, and accessories.
  • Load raw materials into the machine properly.
  • Operate CNC turning centers.
  • Monitor machining processes to ensure dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
  • Perform in-process inspection using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues during machining.
  • Ensure all components meet specified tolerances and quality standards.
  • Document inspections and maintain production records
  • Conduct basic machine maintenance and cleaning.
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment.

Preferred candidate profile

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in CNC turning programming (manual G-code and/or CAM software).
  • Knowledge of tooling, materials, and machining practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (GD&T knowledge is a plus).
  • Familiarity with control systems.

Experience:

  • 2- 5 years as a CNC Turning Operator or Programmer preferred.
