
Assistant Import/Export Manager

Key Responsibilities
· Shipment Management & Coordination:
- Daily monitoring and updates of all import and export shipments.
- Manage booking, nomination, and intimation updates with freight forwarders and shipping lines.
- Provide real-time updates on in-transit shipments, docking, and arrival schedules.
- Coordinate with purchase, PPC (Production Planning & Control), stores, finance, and logistics teams to ensure smooth inbound and outbound operations.
· Documentation & Compliance:
- Oversee all shipping documentation, including Bill of Lading (BL), Import General Manifest (IGM), and other necessary paperwork.
- Ensure all documents are accurate and complete for customs clearance.
- Coordinate with customs brokers to facilitate timely and hassle-free customs clearance.
- Monitor and track all customs-related notifications and regulations.
· Compliance & Risk Management:
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of EXIM regulations and government notifications.
- Stay informed on Anti-Dumping Duties and other trade remedies that may affect imports.
- Ensure all procedures are followed to prevent delays or penalties.
· Reporting & Analysis:
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports on shipment status, costs, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Utilize advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
· Stakeholder Communication:
- Communicate effectively with all internal teams and external partners, including freight forwarders, suppliers, and customs agents.
- Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to shipments.
Required Skills and Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of hands-on experience in import and export operations within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience in managing logistics, documentation, and customs clearance.
- In-depth knowledge of EXIM regulations, shipping procedures, and Incoterms.
- Familiarity with documentation such as Bill of Lading (BL) and Import General Manifest (IGM).
- Experience with Anti-Dumping regulations and other trade-related notifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is mandatory.
- Excellent coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
