
Urgent vacancy of NICU Staff Nurse

Roles & Responsibilities:-
- Operate equipment such as ECG, external defibrillators and bag-valve mask resuscitators in advanced life-support environments.
- Perform Neonatal admission assessment.
- Assess nature and extent of illness or injury to establish and prioritize medical procedures.
- Maintain medical equipment, and replenish first-aid equipment and supplies.
- Observe, record, and report to physician the patient's condition or injury, the treatment provided, and reactions to drugs and treatment.
- Administer life-support care to sick neonates.
Making diagnosis and giving treatment to patients who are seriously ill or have life-threatening conditions.
- Assess vital signs including pain.
- Administer drugs, orally or by injection, and perform intravenous procedures under a physician's direction.
- Coordinate work with other medical team members when required.
- To maintain strict aseptic technique during the surgical procedures.
- To participate all the unit and in-service education.
- To adhere to the critical care policies and protocols.
- To ensure proper documentation.
Checking the efficiency of equipments to maintain a state of operational readiness;
- Adhere to infection control protocols.
- Administer drugs, orally or by injection, and perform intravenous procedures under a physician's direction.
- Coordinate work with other medical team members.
- Communicate with other members in the Health Care team in case of transfer or referral.
- Proper Documentation and Family Education.
- Participation in In-service Education.
- Implementation of operations esp. as per the approved standards under supervision of the Consultant NICU / Head - Nursing.
- Ensures and guides optimum utilization of physical facilities, qualitative and economic use of general / clinical supplies.
- Infection control, Health care waste management, awareness of patients rights & safety issues, relationship building.
- Checking of Inventory in the concerned area.
- Participates in Hospital Quality Improvement Programme.
