We are currently seeking skilled and compassionate nurses to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team as specialized care providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Neonate Safety and Security
  • Ensure the safety and security of neonates by consistently following established safety measures and protocols.
  • Monitor neonates on incubators and ventilators, promptly reporting any abnormal findings or concerns.
  • Provide professional bedside nursing care, preparing comprehensive nursing care plans for each patient.
  • Assist doctors in the management of asphyxiated neonates, including resuscitation and stabilization efforts.
  • Complete preoperative checklists before neonates are transferred to the operation theatre.
  • Communication and Family Support
  • Provide regular updates on the neonate's condition to parents at least twice a day, ensuring clear and transparent communication.
  • Immediately inform parents of any changes in their neonate's condition, addressing their concerns and needs.
  • Offer emotional strength and comfort to parents during their time in the NICU, providing a supportive environment.
  • Clinical and Administrative Duties
  • Review doctors' notes and drug charts upon admission, executing actions as required and necessary.
  • Ensure all prescribed investigations are conducted, with reports available for doctors in a timely manner.
  • Raise pharmacy indents, check received items, and manage stock in the bedside locker and medication trolley, maintaining accurate records.
  • Coordinate the procurement of blood and blood products for transfusions, reporting any adverse reactions immediately to the treating consultant, Incharge, and Nursing Superintendent.
  • Knowledge and Compliance
  • Possess a thorough knowledge of gestational age assessment, specific problems associated with premature, post-mature, and growth-restricted neonates.
  • Be aware of and competent in APGAR scoring, applying this knowledge in practice.
  • Hold certification in NALS & NRP (Neonatal Advanced Life Support & Neonatal Resuscitation Program), demonstrating expertise in neonatal care.
  • Have thorough knowledge of I.V. fluid and drug calculations, accurately administering medications and treatments.
  • Adhere strictly to protocols for Infection Control, hand washing, medication, and narcotics, upholding high standards of care.
  • Be aware of and implement NABH & NE (Nursing Excellence) standards, promoting quality and excellence in nursing practice.
  • Ensure visitors comply with Aseptic protocols when entering the NICU, maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
Educational Qualifications
  • A degree or diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution is required.
  • A valid State Registration Nursing Council Certificate is mandatory.
