Role & responsibilities

  • Oversee & leading the clinical operations in the Neonatology and Paediatric departments, ensuring high standards of patient care.
  • Develop, implement, and update clinical protocols and guidelines for neonatal & paediatric care in line with national and international best practices.
  • Supervise the management of neonatologist and paediatricians doctors and their patients, including those in critical care, ensuring timely and appropriate interventions if required.
  • Monitor and ensure the quality of clinical care delivered at Dehradun centers including regular audits and patient outcome reviews.
  • Lead the departments response to medical emergencies, ensuring readiness and efficiency in handling critical situations, including neonatal resuscitation and paediatric emergencies.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with neonatal and paediatric care, ensuring patient safety and minimizing potential complications.
  • Inspecting the performance and development of nurses, and other allied healthcare professionals in the department.
  • Organizing and leading training programs for department staff.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels and efficient allocation of resources, including on-call rotations and shift management.
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, gynaecologists, and other specialists to ensure integrated care for mothers and newborns.
  • Acting as a bridge between the Directors, Chiefs, Sr. Doctors, Medical staff and hospital administration, ensuring smooth communication and operational efficiency.
  • Patient and Family Engagement by ensuring clear communication with doctors and patients' families regarding treatment plans, progress, and outcomes.
  • Ensure the department meets all regulatory and accreditation requirements, including adherence to safety standards and legal obligations.
  • Conduct regular audits and prepare reports for the management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement.
  • Promote and participate in clinical research within the department, aiming to contribute to the advancement of neonatology and pediatric care.

Preferred candidate profile

MS/ MD/ DM or DNB in Neonatology

3-6 years of relevant experience in Neonatology & Pediatrics
