About Durga

Durga is a citizen sector initiative of I'm Every Woman trust, founded in 2013, with a vision of witnessing public spaces that are equally occupied by people of all intersectional identities for commute, leisure and other activities. We enable this by building the capabilities of all actors who use these spaces through Theatre of the Oppressed

to foster empathy and action while providing experiential support in deterring acts of sexual harassment, violence and gender-based discrimination.

We have collaborated with government systems, private unions and educational institutions and work directly with various communities in Bangalore who face multiple vulnerabilities and ensure we leave them with power to address their issues in their own way.

We've reached over 36,000 people, nurtured over 5800 active bystanders who prevent and take action to deter sexual crimes in public spaces. We've worked with over 15 government institutions and catalysed over 200 VOICE communities (solidarity spaces that place power in the hands of the people in all our partner institutions).  

An ideal candidate will:

• Master's degree in Social Work, Public Policy, Development Studies, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in programme management, facilitation, field work or related work
• Experience in building documentation approach and also experience in working on documentation of organisational processes, interventions efforts
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of working on module building, process designs with a clear focus on documentation to evaluation..
• Experience in working with large teams knowing exactly how to work with people

The role requires working proficiency in the following software skills:

• Google Suites
• MS Office, especially Excel and Powerpoint
• Basic knowledge of Canva (not mandatory)

Location: On-site Bangalore

Job Responsibilities:

To ensure effective facilitation at Durga, the Program Facilitator – Work with Men will be responsible for:

Programmatic Duties:

• Facilitate program activities and events in collaboration with team members.
• Support the planning, coordination, and implementation of program initiatives.
• Assist in monitoring program progress and collecting relevant data for reporting purposes.
• Engage with stakeholders, participants, and community members to ensure effective program delivery.
• Coordinate with team members to address challenges and ensure program goals are met.
• Document program activities and outcomes for internal and external reporting.

By fulfilling these responsibilities, the Program Facilitator – Work with Men will ensure that facilitation at Durga is effectively designed, delivered, and aligned with the organization's mission, fostering growth and positive outcomes in the communities served.

We are a small team, and there may be instances where work spills over from other teams. An intent and enthusiasm to contribute to the organization as a whole is important.
