Job Title: Social Media Manager

Experience Required: 3–5 Years

Job Summary:

The Social Media Manager will be responsible for managing the official digital presence of the government office across various social media platforms. The role involves strategic planning, public awareness campaigns, content creation, citizen engagement, and maintaining the reputation and authenticity of government communication online.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute social media strategies aligned with government communication policies.
  • Manage official accounts on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), YouTube, LinkedIn, and others.
  • Create, review, and publish high-quality content (posts, reels, infographics, videos, announcements, awareness campaigns, etc.).
  • Monitor public engagement, respond to citizen queries/comments in a professional and responsible manner.
  • Coordinate with government departments to collect verified information and updates for dissemination.
  • Track trends and design digital campaigns for public awareness, schemes promotion, and announcements.
  • Ensure all published content is accurate, respectful, and compliant with government communication guidelines.
  • Maintain reports on reach, engagement, growth analytics, and campaign performance.
  • Collaborate with media, PR, IT, and other communication teams.
  • Handle crisis communication and manage online reputation.
  • Stay updated with current digital trends and integrate innovation into communication strategy.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Mass Communication, Digital Marketing, Journalism, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of proven experience as a Social Media Manager, preferably in public sector/government campaigns/corporate communication.
  • Strong understanding of social media trends, analytics, and content strategy.
  • Proficiency in content creation tools (Canva, Adobe Suite, etc.) and scheduling platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Hindi (or regional language as applicable).
  • Ability to handle public communication with sensitivity and responsibility.
  • Knowledge of government communication protocols and citizen-centric messaging will be an added advantage.
