Job Summary:
We are looking for a motivated and flexible Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to work directly under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. This role is ideal for a new or early-career OTA looking to gain hands-on experience while traveling across regions to assist with therapy services. The OTA will support the OT in delivering treatment sessions, setting up activities, and tracking patient progress across different environments such as homes, schools, and community centers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Travel alongside the Occupational Therapist to various locations.
- Receive ongoing training and mentorship from the supervising OT.
- Assist in therapy sessions by helping to implement treatment activities and exercises designed by the OT.
- Support clients in developing or regaining functional skills for daily living, school, or work.
- Prepare, organize, and clean therapy equipment and materials.
- Observe and document client progress accurately and communicate observations to the OT.
- Ensure safety and support a positive, therapeutic environment.
- Attend meetings and training sessions as required.
Qualifications:
- Master of Science (MSc) in Psychology(Optional: Additional certification or training related to Occupational Therapy or Rehabilitation)
- Interest in gaining practical experience under the guidance of a licensed OT.
- Willingness and ability to travel regionally
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Professional, adaptable, and eager to learn.
Working Conditions:
- Frequent travel to different client sites
- Hands-on training and supervision by licensed Occupational Therapist.
- Exposure to a variety of client populations and settings.
