Overview: The OPD (Outpatient Department) Executive plays a crucial role in the healthcare organization, ensuring the smooth functioning of outpatient services. This role involves managing patient appointments, handling administrative tasks, and providing excellent customer service to patients visiting the OPD. The OPD Executive is responsible for maintaining patient records, coordinating with medical staff, and ensuring a positive experience for patients.Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and schedule patient appointments in the outpatient department
  • Handle patient inquiries and provide information about OPD services
  • Ensure efficient coordination between patients, doctors, and medical staff
  • Coordinate with insurance providers for pre-authorization and claims processing
  • Execute administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and record management
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness and order in the OPD waiting area
  • Resolve patient complaints and issues in a professional and empathetic manner
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless patient care
  • Adhere to established medical and ethical standards
  • Assist in monitoring and ordering OPD supplies
  • Participate in training and orientation of new staff members
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of OPD process improvements
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or relevant field
  • Prior experience in a customer service or administrative role, preferably in a healthcare setting
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Understanding of medical terminology and healthcare processes
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
  • Knowledge of insurance verification and pre-authorization processes
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment
  • Empathetic and courteous attitude towards patients and their families
  • Familiarity with medical billing and coding processes (CPT and ICD-10 codes)
  • Capability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Basic understanding of healthcare compliance and regulatory requirements
