E-Commerce Business Leader

1. Business Strategy & P&L Ownership
- Full Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibility
for the entire India E-commerce business unit, including revenue targets, gross margin, operating expenses, and profitability. - Develop and execute the comprehensive
market entry and growth strategy
for the e-commerce channel in India, specifically tailored for coffee products. - Conduct continuous market analysis of the competitive landscape, consumer trends, and regulatory changes in the Indian coffee industry to identify new opportunities.
2. Operations & Logistics Excellence
- Oversee and manage the entire
e-commerce operations lifecycle
(inventory, fulfillment, shipping, and returns), ensuring a delightful customer experience specific to coffee delivery (e.g., freshness, packaging). - Establish and manage relationships with
local 3PLs, warehousing partners, and cold chain logistics providers
(if necessary) to ensure cost-effective and timely delivery across India. - Optimize inventory management to ensure peak availability of SKUs (coffee beans, grounds, equipment) while minimizing waste and carrying costs.
3. Team Building & People Growth
- Lead the recruitment and hiring process
to build a high-performing, agile team across marketing, operations, and customer service functions in India. - Mentor, coach, and develop existing team members, focusing on
talent retention and succession planning
to foster a culture of excellence and ownership. - Define roles, set clear performance objectives, and manage the overall organizational structure necessary for the e-commerce business scale.
4. Cross-Functional Leadership
- Act as the
senior point of contact
for all regional and global stakeholders (Finance, Global Marketing, Product teams), advocating for the needs of the Indian market. - Manage local
compliance, taxation, and legal requirements
specific to e-commerce and the food/beverage industry in India.
Qualifications & Skills
Must-Haves
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or a related field.
- 3-4 years of proven, hands-on experience
in e-commerce operations, business development, or a General Management role, preferably in a D2C setup. - Demonstrable experience managing a P&L
or having direct accountability for key financial metrics (revenue, margin, expenses). - Deep understanding of the Indian consumer market
, especially for premium or specialty food/beverage products like coffee. - Proven ability to
build, hire, and lead a small to mid-sized team
. - Strong analytical and negotiation skills with a track record of driving operational efficiency.
