Sales Manager – Banking Sector

Job Summary:
The Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales growth and achieving business targets for the bank's products and services. This includes managing a team of sales executives or relationship officers, developing new business opportunities, maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring compliance with banking policies and regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve business targets for products such as savings accounts, current accounts, loans, credit cards, insurance, and investments.
- Lead, motivate, and manage a team of sales officers / telecallers to achieve individual and team sales goals.
- Identify new business opportunities and build a robust customer pipeline.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing customers and ensure excellent service delivery.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to identify new growth areas.
- Conduct daily sales meetings and performance reviews for the sales team.
- Ensure adherence to all banking compliance, KYC norms, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with internal departments (operations, credit, collections, etc.) for smooth processing of customer applications.
- Prepare and present regular sales performance reports to management.
- Drive cross-selling and up-selling initiatives to increase product penetration among existing customers.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: Graduate / Postgraduate degree (preferably in Business, Finance, Marketing, or related field).
- Experience:
- Minimum 3–7 years of sales experience in the banking or financial services sector.
- Prior experience in managing a sales team is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Good understanding of retail banking products and market dynamics.
- Goal-oriented mindset with a focus on results.
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools.
