Job Summary: The Legal Head / Senior Manager is responsible for directing all legal, compliance, and regulatory affairs of the organization, supporting strategic decision-making and ensuring full adherence to applicable laws and corporate governance standards. This leader will leverage deep industry and regulatory knowledge to build robust legal frameworks and compliance programs.

Key Responsibilities:


• Serve as primary legal advisor to executive management and board, providing expert guidance on corporate, commercial, regulatory, and compliance matters.


• Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive compliance programs, ensuring the company adheres to statutory and regulatory requirements, including SEBI, Companies Act, FEMA, and other relevant laws.


• Draft, review, and negotiate legal contracts and documentsincluding client/vendor agreements, employment contracts, real estate, M&A, JV, and fundraising documents.


• Oversee and ensure timely statutory filings, regulatory submissions, and company secretarial obligations.


• Lead and manage internal policies related to confidentiality, data protection, risk management, and ethical standards.


• Guide and represent the company in litigation, dispute resolution, and defense, including liaison with external counsels and regulatory authorities.


• Build, lead, and mentor the legal and compliance team; oversee their development and workflow.


• Collaborate with finance, HR, and operations to maintain best practices across all functional areas from a legal and compliance perspective.


• Represent the company in negotiations, regulatory forums, court proceedings, and key stakeholder interactions.

Qualifications and Skills:


• Law degree (LL.B./J.D.) from a recognized institution; LL.M. preferred


• Company Secretary (CS) certification with proven experience in secretarial and compliance roles


• Minimum 11+ years' experience in legal leadership, with strong exposure to compliance management and corporate law


• Demonstrated expertise in regulatory affairs, statutory filings, compliance program development, and risk mitigation


• Excellent negotiation, contract drafting, and communication skills


• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and ethical conduct in fast-paced business environments.
