Role Overview

  • The SAM Pro License Manager Specialist is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of software assets and licenses using ServiceNow SAM Pro.
  • This role focuses on ensuring compliance, optimizing software usage, and supporting governance for major vendors like Microsoft and Adobe.
  • The specialist collaborates with procurement, IT, and business teams to align software asset strategies with organizational goals.

Role & responsibilities

  • Manage software assets and entitlements using ServiceNow SAM Pro.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and usage data for Adobe, Microsoft, and other key vendors.
  • Analyze license agreements and ensure compliance with contractual terms.
  • Prepare Effective License Positions (ELPs) and support vendor audits.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through license optimization.
  • Generate reports on software usage, compliance risks, and remediation plans.
  • Support renewal planning and entitlement tracking.
  • Work with procurement, legal, finance, and IT teams to ensure licensing strategies align with business needs.
  • Guide software owners on license management and installation tracking.
  • Contribute to SAM governance policies and process improvements.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow SAM Pro.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft and Adobe licensing models.
  • Experience with software audits and vendor negotiations.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills (Excel, Power BI preferred).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM)
  • ITIL Foundation
  • ServiceNow SAM Certification
