Role & responsibilities

Payroll Management:

  • Handle end-to-end payroll processing for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain payroll records, resolve discrepancies, and ensure proper documentation.
  • Coordinate with HR and Finance for accurate data collection (attendance, leaves, incentives, bonuses, etc.).
  • Ensure accurate calculation of salaries, deductions (PF, ESI, TDS, professional tax), and reimbursements.
  • Oversee payroll audits and reporting.

Statutory Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws and statutory requirements, including: Shops & Establishment Act, Minimum wages act, payment of wages act etc.
  • Liaise with government authorities and handle inspections, audits, and queries.
  • Submit timely returns and challans to statutory bodies.
  • Keep abreast of changes in labor laws and ensure timely implementation in the organization.

Documentation & MIS:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and compliance documentation.
  • Prepare and submit compliance reports and MIS as required by management.
  • Maintain confidentiality of payroll and employee data.

Advisory & Policy Implementation:

  • Advise management on compliance risks and labor law changes.
  • Assist in drafting and implementing HR policies in line with statutory requirements.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in any stream, HR, or a related field. MBA (HR/Finance) is a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in payroll and statutory compliance
  • Strong command of Indian Labor Laws and statutory obligations.
  • Hands-on experience with payroll software and HRMS
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in handling payroll for multi-state operations.
  • Exposure to labor law audits and inspections.
  • Certification in Labor Law or Payroll Management is an added advantage.
