Are you ready to take your tax expertise to the next level? SHL is seeking the Assistant Manager - Tax to join our Tax team. In this pivotal role, you will assist the Global Head of India Tax in managing both direct and indirect taxation (compliance and advisory) for India and international jurisdictions. You will ensure timely and accurate compliance with all direct and indirect tax regulations and independently handle GST-related queries within our organization.

What You will be doing

  • Timely submission and revision, if any of annual Corporate Income Tax returns, TDS Returns, GST monthly returns, GST annual return, SFT, FBT returns, timely deposit of taxes with the authorities for India as well as international jurisdictions.
  • Handle Income Tax, TDS, GST and other notices relating to assessments, appeals, enquiries, investigations, etc. and ensuring timely submission of data and documents.
  • Prepare applications and liaise with GST officer for refund of excess credit, Income tax officers for obtaining Income tax refunds, processing of rectification applications and other documents.
  • Compute and ensure proper accounting of deferred tax and tax provision for consolidated and standalone accounts closure for India and other allotted jurisdictions.
  • Assist in annual statutory audits and internal audits for India and at Group level.
  • Be a resource for frequent ad-hoc tax queries from various stakeholders.

What we are looking for from you:

Essential:

  • Strong time management skills to balance monthly tasks and ad-hoc requirements.
  • High level of analytical ability with proficiency in excel.
  • Self-motivated and passionate about quality of work produced.

Desired:

  • CA with proven years of experience in corporate taxation (Direct and Indirect tax).
  • Experience in Indian accounting standards and IFRS with prior experience of handling statutory and internal audits.
  • International tax exposure will be preferred.
