Job Description: Commi Pastry Chef at Epic Poetry Cafe

Location: Vytilla, Kochi

Position Overview:

As a Commi Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for preparing a wide range of pastries and desserts while upholding our high standards of quality and cleanliness. A strong emphasis on discipline, customer satisfaction, and attention to detail is essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Pastry Preparation:

  2. Assist in the preparation and baking of various pastries, cakes, and desserts according to established recipes and presentation standards. This includes measuring ingredients, mixing doughs, and ensuring proper baking times and temperatures.

  3. Cleanliness and Organization:

  4. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to hygiene standards and safety regulations at all times. Regularly clean and sanitize work areas, tools, and equipment to ensure a safe kitchen environment.

  5. Customer Focus:

  6. Display a high standard attitude towards customer preferences and feedback. Be attentive to special requests and dietary restrictions, ensuring that all desserts meet customer expectations.

  7. Inventory Management:

  8. Assist in managing inventory of pastry ingredients, ensuring that supplies are well-stocked and properly stored. Help with tracking usage and assisting in ordering fresh ingredients as needed.

5.Equipment Handling:

-Safely and efficiently handle kitchen equipment, including mixers, ovens, and other baking tools. Ensure that all equipment is maintained, cleaned, and properly stored after use to uphold safety and efficiency in the kitchen.

  2. Ensure that all pastries and desserts are of the highest quality and consistency. Regularly taste-test products and make adjustments as necessary to meet our high standards.

  3. Continuous Learning:

  4. Stay updated on pastry trends and techniques, continuously seeking opportunities to improve skills and contribute new ideas to the menu.

  5. Team Collaboration:

  6. Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations. Communicate effectively with team members, sharing ideas and supporting each other during busy service periods.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in pastry preparation or a similar role.

  • Strong understanding of pastry techniques and baking principles.

  • A disciplined approach to work with a keen attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
