New Product Development Manager

Responsibilities:

• Role Objective:
• To lead and drive the New Product Development (NPD) function for tube assemblies (domestic & export markets) by ensuring innovative design, cost optimization, timely project execution, and alignment with customer requirements. The VP will be responsible for spearheading product strategies, enhancing technical capabilities, and ensuring robust program delivery across all automotive OEMs and global clients.
• Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the end-to-end NPD process for tube assemblies – from concept, design validation, prototyping, testing, to production launch.
• Partner with OEM customers (domestic & international) to understand requirements and deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions.
• Define and execute NPD roadmap aligned with business growth, technology trends, and future mobility solutions.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Project Management teams.
• Ensure APQP, PPAP, and customer-specific requirements are implemented effectively.
• Develop and implement VA/VE, lightweighting, and cost reduction initiatives.
• Build and mentor a high-performing engineering & program management team.
• Lead technology benchmarking, competitor analysis, and vendor development for advanced tube assembly solutions.
• Monitor project milestones, budgets, and timelines ensuring flawless execution.
• Interface with domestic & export clients to strengthen customer relationships and support business expansion.
• Qualifications & Experience:
• B.E./B.Tech (Mechanical/Automobile/Production) –
• 15+ years of experience in Automotive NPD, Tube Assemblies, Fluid Routing Systems, or related components, with at least 5–7 years in a leadership role.
• Strong exposure to OEM program management (domestic & export).
• Proven expertise in CAD/CAE tools, DFMEA, PFMEA, GD&T, and product validation testing.
• In-depth knowledge of APQP, PPAP, IATF 16949, ISO standards.
• Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and customer management skills.

• New Product Development (NPD) Head for tube assembly is responsible for overseeing the entire product lifecycle, from initial concept through design, manufacturing, and market launch. This leadership role requires a deep understanding of engineering principles, strong project management skills, and a strategic vision aligned with market needs.

• Develop product strategy: Define the vision, roadmap, and strategy for new tube assembly products based on market trends, customer needs, and competitive analysis.
• Lead and mentor the NPD team: Guide a team of engineers and designers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
• Cross-functional collaboration: Work with marketing, sales, engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance to ensure alignment and successful project execution.
• Product lifecycle management
• Ideation and concept generation: Drive the process of generating innovative ideas for new tube assemblies, fuel injection pipes, or other related components.
• Prototyping and testing: Oversee the creation of prototypes and manage the rigorous testing and validation to ensure products meet performance, durability, and safety standards.
• Design and development: Manage the end-to-end design and development process, from initial specifications to the production stage.
• Technical documentation: Ensure all products are properly documented with a bill of materials (BOM), design specifications, and other required technical data.
• Manufacturing and quality
• Manufacturing liaison: Work closely with manufacturing plants to ensure a seamless transition from development to full-scale production.
• Cost analysis and optimization: Identify opportunities for design and cost improvements, ensuring new products are cost-effective and manufacturable.
• Quality assurance and compliance: Conduct Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), ensure all products comply with industry standards, and maintain quality goals throughout the production process.
• Vendor management: Identify, select, and manage relationships with external vendors and suppliers for raw materials and tooling.
