Role Overview
Our client is looking for a Tech Lead / Founding Engineer to own and lead the entire technology function. This is a high-ownership role for someone who enjoys building products from scratch, making architectural decisions, and scaling systems and teams in an early-stage environment.
The Tech Lead will work closely with the founder to build the core product, define the technical roadmap, and grow a strong engineering team over time.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end architecture, design, and development of client'sb core platform.
- Build and scale consumer and merchant-facing applications from scratch (0→1).
- Design and integrate fintech and lending APIs across payments, KYC, banking, and investments.
- Lead development of lending systems, including LOS, LMS, and related workflows.
- Ensure systems are secure, scalable, and compliant with fintech best practices.
- Hire, mentor, and manage engineers as the team scales.
- Partner closely with the founder on product strategy and execution.
Requirements
- 3–7 years of overall software engineering experience, with ownership of systems or modules.
- Bachelor's degree from a Tier-1 institute (IITs, BITS, NITs or equivalent).
- Prior experience working in early-stage startups and building products from scratch.
- Prior experience in fintech, with exposure to working with Fintech APIs, core banking systems, LMS, LOS
- Hands-on experience working with fintech APIs (payments, KYC, banking, investments).
- Experience building lending platforms, including LOS, LMS, and consumer applications.
- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to lead execution in a fast-moving environment.
