Job Description

Job Summary:

The Utility Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, preventive maintenance, and repair of all utility systems and equipment including HVAC, air compressors, boilers, chillers, pumps, water treatment systems, and other facility utilities. This role plays a key part in maintaining uninterrupted facility operations, safety, and energy efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on utility systems (e.g., compressed air, chilled water, steam, HVAC, and water treatment).
  • Inspect, monitor, and record operating conditions of utility equipment to ensure performance within standards.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control issues on utility systems.
  • Conduct daily rounds and report any abnormalities or potential issues.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, equipment records, and service reports.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new utility equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards during maintenance activities.
  • Support energy-saving and reliability improvement initiatives.
  • Respond to utility breakdowns promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for major repairs and system upgrades.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education:(EEE) Diploma / ITI / Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering.
  • Experience: 25 years of experience in utility maintenance (manufacturing / industrial / facility environment).

  • Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of HVAC, boilers, chillers, air compressors, cooling towers, and pumps.

  • Understanding of electrical and control systems related to utility equipment.

  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance systems (CMMS preferred).

  • Soft Skills: Strong troubleshooting ability, teamwork, communication, and safety awareness.
