Position Overview:

As a Junior Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, operations, and marketing, to optimize our financial processes and support the growth of both our retail and eCommerce channels. This is a hands-on role requiring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions, including eCommerce and retail sales.

Monitor key financial performance indicators (KPIs) such as gross margins, cost of goods sold, and cash flow.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

Lead the budgeting process, providing strategic input to support company goals.

Perform variance analysis and provide insights on financial trends.

Partner with department heads to review actual performance against budgets and forecasts.

Cost Management & Inventory Accounting:

Oversee cost accounting for fashion production and inventory management.

Ensure the accuracy of inventory records across multiple warehouses and sales channels.

Implement and maintain pricing strategies for product lines.

Accounts Payable & Receivable:

Manage and oversee accounts payable/receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.

Reconcile vendor accounts and resolve any discrepancies with suppliers.

Compliance & Taxation:

Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal tax regulations.

Assist with tax preparation and work with external auditors to complete annual audits.

Stay updated on regulatory changes affecting the fashion and eCommerce industries.

Process Improvement:

Identify and implement improvements to accounting systems and processes, including automation tools for eCommerce transactions.

Assist in the setup of new financial systems as we expand into new markets.

Team Leadership:

Mentor and guide junior accounting staff, providing training and development opportunities.

Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align financial goals with company objectives.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

3+ years of experience in accounting.

Prior experience in the fashion, retail, or eCommerce industry is highly desirable.

Strong understanding of inventory management, cost accounting, and financial reporting.

Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP) and Excel.

Familiarity with eCommerce platforms like Shopify, Magento, or similar tools.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
