Job Description – Junior Accountant (Store)

Position: Junior Accountant

Department: Accounts

Location: Nagrik Store

Reporting To: Senior Accountant

Job Purpose

To support the Senior Accountant in day-to-day accounting operations, data entry, record maintenance, and accuracy in financial tasks for the store.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Senior Accountant in daily accounting tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales, purchases, expenses, and payments.
  • Prepare and update accounting entries in Tally.
  • Handle daily cash, sales reports, petty cash, and reconciliation.
  • Support in preparing GST data, invoices, purchase orders, and vendor bills.
  • Ensure all documents are filed and maintained properly.
  • Assist in monthly closing and preparation of financial reports.
  • Coordinate with store team for bill entries, stock purchase entries, and follow-ups.
  • Check and maintain vendor payment schedules.
  • Assist in bank reconciliation and ledger review.
  • Any other accounting tasks assigned by the Senior Accountant.

Skills Required

  • Good knowledge of Tally.
  • Strong MS Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Table, basic formulas).
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles.
  • Good numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks on time.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.

Qualifications

  • B.Com or equivalent.
  • 0–2 years of experience in accounting (freshers can apply).
