Principal Data Engineer

We're seeking a Principal Software Engineer—or an exceptional Senior Software Engineer—to play a key role in building and optimizing complex data solutions. This position calls for deep expertise in programming, architecture, and modern data technologies, with a strong emphasis on Python development. You'll be responsible for analyzing, refactoring, and optimizing large-scale data processing systems, collaborating across teams to ensure robust, scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and optimize complex data pipelines and applications using Python.

Review and refactor existing Java-based data processing code, translating it into efficient, maintainable Python solutions.

Apply advanced knowledge of programming languages, data structures, OOP principles, and software architecture to create high-quality, scalable systems.

Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand workflows, requirements, and integration points.

Leverage cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and big data frameworks (Hadoop, Spark) to deliver high-performance solutions.

Ensure adherence to the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and best practices for source control, configuration management, and deployment.

Troubleshoot and resolve performance, scalability, and integration issues.

Document architecture, code, and processes for cross-team knowledge sharing.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

10+ years of professional software engineering experience (Principal-level preferred; Senior-level considered if requirements are met).

Excellent understanding of programming languages, data structures, OOP, and software architecture.

Minimum 3 years of hands-on Python development in data-intensive environments.

Experience with Java and ability to analyze and refactor Java-based data codebases.

Knowledge of big data tools and frameworks (Hadoop, Spark) is a strong plus.

Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.

Proficiency in cloud environments such as AWS.

Strong grasp of SDLC, version control, and configuration management best practices.

Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹140, ₹150,000.00 per month
