- About The Role ::Database Security Specialist Position Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Database Security Specialist to manage and enhance the security of our database environments using IBM Guardium. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in database security, policy management, and system administration. This role involves creating and modifying security policies, investigating security incidents, managing user roles and permissions, and ensuring the optimal performance and security of our Guardium environment. Key Responsibilities: 1. Security Policy Management: - Create and modify security policies to monitor and control database activities. - Regularly update policies based on evolving security requirements and feedback from customers. 2. Incident Support: - Assist in investigating security incidents by providing necessary alerts and data to the investigating team. - Work closely with other security teams to ensure quick and effective incident resolution. 3. User Role Management: - Define and manage user roles and permissions within the Guardium environment based on customer input. - Ensure that access controls are consistently applied and meet security standards. 4. System Maintenance and Updates: - Apply software updates and patches to the Guardium environment to maintain security and functionality. - Monitor system performance and provide recommendations to optimize the environment. - Conduct regular backups of Guardium configurations and logs to ensure data integrity and availability. 5. System Upgrades and OEM Coordination: - Perform system upgrades as recommended by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). - Coordinate with the OEM for support and guidance on any technical issues or upgrades. 6. Reporting and Documentation: - Prepare and deliver monthly reports detailing security activities, system performance, and compliance status. - Maintain thorough documentation of all security policies, procedures, and system configurations. 7. Infrastructure Support: - Support the infrastructure team in managing the underlying infrastructure, including operating system upgrades and other relevant tasks. - Ensure seamless integration and operation between the database security environment and the broader IT infrastructure. Qualifications:- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in database security, particularly with IBM Guardium.
- Strong understanding of database security principles, policies, and best practices.
- Experience with system administration, including applying patches, updates, and system upgrades.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with customers, security teams, and vendors.
