Role & responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with strong knowledge of Tally Prime and all core accounting functions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations, preparing accurate reports, ensuring statutory compliance, and supporting management with key financial insights.
- Handle full set of accounts using Tally Prime, including data entry, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), ensuring timely vendor payments and customer collections.
- Prepare and review financial statements, profit & loss accounts, and balance sheets on a monthly and annual basis.
- Oversee bank reconciliation, petty cash, and cash flow management. Ensure compliance with all taxation and statutory requirements (GST, TDS, income tax, etc.).
- Maintain accurate inventory and job costing records in coordination with the operations team.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Support audit preparation and liaise with external auditors.
- Maintain proper documentation and implement effective internal controls.
- Supervise junior accounting staff and provide training where required.
Preferred candidate profile
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Finance.
- 5+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in a manufacturing, trading, or engineering environment.
- Proficiency in Tally Prime (mandatory).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, journal entries, and reconciliations.
- Hands-on experience with GST filing, TDS, payroll accounting, and financial reporting.
- Proficient in MS Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
