Job Profile: Sales Engineer - Industrial Automation
Objective:
The Sales Engineer in an industrial automation company specializing in control panels, PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), and related technologies is responsible for leading the sales team to achieve revenue targets, developing and implementing sales strategies, and fostering strong relationships with clients in the industrial automation sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy Development:
- Formulate and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to drive business growth in the industrial automation market.
- Identify key market segments, potential clients, and emerging opportunities.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
- Develop new relationships with potential clients, understanding their automation needs, and offering tailored solutions.
- Product Knowledge:
- Stay updated on the latest trends, technologies, and advancements in industrial automation.
- Train the sales team on the features and benefits of the company's products and services.
- Proposal Development:
- Collaborate with the technical team to create compelling and customized proposals for clients.
- Ensure proposals align with client requirements and address their specific challenges.
- Sales Forecasting and Reporting:
- Prepare regular sales reports, including key performance indicators (KPIs), sales forecasts, and market trends.
- Analyze data to make strategic decisions and adjustments to the sales approach.
- Contract Negotiation:
- Negotiate terms and conditions with clients, ensuring win-win outcomes for both parties.
- Collaborate with legal and finance teams to finalize contracts.
- Trade Shows and Events:
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences.
- Network with potential clients and industry stakeholders.
- Customer Feedback and Improvement:
- Gather feedback from clients and incorporate insights into product development and service improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with the customer support team to address any issues or concerns raised by clients.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Proven experience in sales, preferably in the industrial automation sector.
- Strong understanding of control panels, PLC, SCADA, and related technologies.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
