Job Description: Air Export Operations & Pricing (7+ Years) – Mumbai

Position: Air Export Operations & Pricing Executive / Manager

Experience Required: Minimum 7+ years

Location: Mumbai

Industry: Shipping, Logistics & Freight Forwarding

Key Responsibilities1. Air Export Operations

  • Manage complete end-to-end air export operations including booking, cargo acceptance, and flight planning.
  • Coordinate with airlines, consolidators, transporters, CHAs, and customers for smooth cargo movement.
  • Prepare and verify all air export documents such as MAWB, HAWB, invoice, packing list, SLI, and customs documentation.
  • Handle DG shipments, perishables, high-value cargo, and special handling cargo (if applicable).
  • Arrange cargo pick-up, carting, and ensure compliance with airport/airline rules.
  • Monitor shipments and ensure timely uplift and departure.
  • Ensure adherence to customs regulations, airport security guidelines, and IATA standards.

2. Pricing & Rate Negotiation

  • Source competitive air freight rates from airlines and consolidators.
  • Provide timely and accurate rate quotes to customers and the sales team.
  • Negotiate long-term contracts, spot rates & special rates for key clients.
  • Track market trends, airline new tariffs, peak season pricing, and competitor rates.
  • Maintain updated tariff sheets and rate database.

3. Customer Service

  • Act as the primary contact for clients for shipment updates and operational coordination.
  • Resolve customer issues, delays, discrepancies, and claims promptly.
  • Provide proactive communication and maintain strong customer relationships.

4. Documentation & Compliance

  • Ensure proper filing of export documents and job files.
  • Coordinate with CHA for customs clearance and documentation.
  • Verify billing, vendor invoices, and ensure accurate job closing.

5. Reporting & Coordination

  • Prepare MIS reports on shipments, rates, airline performance, and pricing trends.
  • Collaborate with operations, finance, sales, and warehouse teams for smooth workflow.
  • Ensure timely billing and recoveries from customers.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 7+ years experience in Air Export Operations & Pricing within freight forwarding/logistics.
  • Strong understanding of air cargo procedures, customs processes, IATA regulations, DG handling, and airport documentation.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and client handling skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, cargo software (CargoWise, Logi-Sys, etc.).
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and multitask.
