Job Summary: We are looking for a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Research and Development team focused on medical devices. The ideal candidate will be CAD (SolidWorks) certified and ASME Y14.5 certified, with a strong ability to convert concepts into detailed CAD designs and drawings, incorporating Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

Key Responsibilities:


• Concept Development: Transform innovative ideas into detailed CAD models using SolidWorks, ensuring designs meet functional and regulatory requirements.


• Detailed Drawings: Create comprehensive technical drawings and specifications that incorporate GD&T principles for manufacturing and assembly.

  • Mechanical Calculations: Conduct basic mechanical engineering calculations to support design decisions, ensuring reliability and performance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure designs are manufacturable and meet project timelines.
  • Material Knowledge: Utilize understanding of plastic and metal manufacturing technologies to inform design choices and material selection.


• Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of design processes, calculations, and revisions to support regulatory submissions and internal audits.

Competencies / Functional & Technical Skills


• Proficient in SolidWorks for 3D modelling and drafting.


• Strong understanding of GD&T principles.
• Excellent communication skills, ability to learn quickly, and a proactive approach to problemsolving
