Server & Storage Pre-Sales Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Server & Storage Pre-Sales Engineer to support our sales team in designing, presenting, and positioning data center infrastructure solutions. The ideal candidate will engage with customers to understand their technical requirements, create tailored server and storage architectures, and prepare high-quality proposals and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with customers to gather requirements, understand business needs, and map them into technical solutions.
  • Design enterprise server and storage solutions—including sizing, capacity planning, and high-level architecture.
  • Prepare Bills of Materials (BoMs), technical proposals, HLD/LLD documents, and RFP/RFQ responses.
  • Deliver presentations, demonstrations, and technical workshops to customers.
  • Support proof-of-concept (PoC) activities and solution validations.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to ensure proposed solutions meet customer expectations and budget.
  • Engage with OEM vendors (Dell, HPE, Lenovo, Cisco, NetApp, etc.) for technical alignment and pricing support.
  • Provide internal training and knowledge-sharing on server and storage technologies.
  • Support handover to post-sales/implementation teams with all required documentation.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3–7 years of experience in pre-sales, solution design, or data center technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise server platforms (rack, blade, tower, hyper-converged).
  • Deep understanding of storage technologies: SAN, NAS, DAS, iSCSI, Fibre Channel, NFS, SMB.
  • Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM).
  • Familiarity with backup/DR solutions and data protection strategies.
  • Ability to create architecture diagrams and documentation using Visio or similar tools.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and customer-facing skills.
  • Vendor certifications (Dell, HPE, NetApp, VMware, etc.) are an advantage.

Preferred Skills (Optional)

  • Experience with cloud-integrated storage or hybrid cloud architecture.
  • Knowledge of data center networking fundamentals.
  • Experience with HCI solutions (VMware vSAN, Nutanix, HPE Simplivity).
  • Experience conducting PoC testing and performance validation.
