Role & responsibilities

To lead and sustain Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives at Chakan Plant 1, ensuring equipment reliability, process efficiency, and a culture of continuous improvement aligned with plant goals.

Key Responsibilities

TPM Strategy & Execution

  • Drive implementation of TPM pillars: Autonomous Maintenance, Planned Maintenance, Focused Improvement, Quality Maintenance, and Early Equipment Management.
  • Develop and execute TPM roadmap aligned with plant KPIs and strategic objectives.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure consistent TPM practices across all production lines.

Operational Excellence

  • Lead Kaizen activities and support Lean initiatives to eliminate waste and improve OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).
  • Conduct Gemba walks and facilitate problem-solving sessions using tools like RCA, 5 Whys, and FMEA.
  • Monitor and improve MTBF/MTTR metrics for critical equipment.

Training & Capability Building

  • Organize TPM training programs for operators, technicians, and engineers.
  • Build internal TPM champions and foster a culture of ownership and accountability.
  • Ensure documentation and standardization of TPM practices.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track TPM progress through dashboards and monthly reviews.
  • Report TPM metrics to plant leadership and suggest corrective actions.
  • Benchmark best practices and drive continuous improvement.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 3–5 years of experience in TPM implementation in a manufacturing setup.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance systems, Lean tools, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Proficient in MS Office and TPM software tools.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and team coordination skills.
