This is an exciting opportunity for an Operations Officer or Coordinator with a minimum of 3 years marine industry experience and a genuine service focus. The successful candidate has a high level of communication skills, verbal and written, and enjoys a fast-paced environment.
Facilitating port operations accurately and in a timely manner will form a large part of day-to-day duties but the Operations Coordinator is also responsible for overseeing the efficiency and quality of the teams service delivery and supporting our Operations Officers and training new team members.
Role & responsibilities
Key responsibilities of the role include;
- Manage a busy inbox and respond to correspondence and queries.
- Liaise with Superintendents, valued clients, agents and other third parties, arranging vessel attendance and transport.
- Monitor vessel movements and update attendances as required.
- Completion and vetting of inspection reports.
- Ad hoc duties as required including but not limited to travel bookings and ordering.
- Coaching, training and mentoring of new and existing team members.
Preferred candidate profile
Skill and Experience requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role
- Sound MS Office skills (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Positive team player
- Proactive problem solver
The position requires some shift work, including occasional night shifts. Access to a home office and reliable internet access required. Equipment and training provided.
