What is The Role

We're seeking a Sr. Tax Analyst to join our Income Tax Team to assist with tax planning, reporting and compliance initiatives. This position will enjoy a high level of visibility and impact to our rapidly growing company. The role includes assisting with the planning, development and evaluation of Elastic's tax policies; participating in the development of tax strategy, including tax liability minimization based on a thorough knowledge of global tax laws and regulations.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Assist with all tax planning and implementation, M&A, international tax, transfer pricing, and business expansion matters
  • Research complex tax issues and prepare technical documentation
  • Assist with advising on and oversight of all key US international tax calculations including but not limited to Sec. 174, FDII, BEAT, GILTI, E&P
  • Actively monitor and analyze global tax legislation and impact to Elastic and document tax positions
  • Partner with and advise the business and cross-functional teams on business initiatives and contracts
  • Supervise and manage external consultants to ensure timely and accurate preparation of federal and state R&D credit studies, tax returns, and transfer pricing compliance
  • Manage ad-hoc tax issues related to customer agreements, business initiatives, integrations and global cash coordination
  • Partner with tax reporting team on deferred tax asset substantiations, return to provision, payable proofs, valuation allowances, tax account reconciliations, uncertain tax positions, unremitted earnings analysis, and income tax disclosures to ensure related planning is properly captured
  • Coordinate and run tax audits and respond to notices and inquiries from tax authorities
  • Support tax process improvement initiatives
What You Bring
  • Tax provision experience under US GAAP and IFRS (preferred).
  • Tax compliance and International tax experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree in accountancy. CA/CPA and/or MS in Tax strongly preferred.
  • 3-5 years of progressive, proven experience across both industry and large accounting firms working with global companies.
  • Experience with NetSuite, OneSource Tax Provision, OneSource Uncertain Tax Position, Orbitax preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • A sense of humor and ability to roll with the punches definitely a plus
