Bengaluru, Karnataka, India BSR & Co Full time US$ 4,50,000 - US$ 9,00,000 per year
Description

Role Purpose

At KPMG, we believe the quality of the digital experience directly impacts how colleagues perform, connect and grow. As we embed technology deeper into every aspect of our internal operations, this role helps shape how employees experience the firm, not just how systems look but how they work.

We are looking for a User Experience Architect who will lead the charge in elavating internal digital products and services by making them more intuitive, inclusive and aligned with how our people actually work. This role sits within the Digital Experiences team, supporting the UK Internal Technology function and contributes to building meaningful, human-centred experiences across the firm's digital landscape.

As we enter a new era of AI-powered tooling and evolving ways of working, this role requires someone who can balance strategy with systems-thinking, navigate ambiguity and advocate for design in spaces where it has yet to fully mature.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver UX contributions to internal digital initiatives across enterprise platforms, including intranet portals, HR systems, service desk tools and knowledge bases, with a focus on improving usability, accessibility and employee experience.
  • Use a variety of research methods, including AI-assisted tools to gather insights from users, analyse feedback, and translate findings into actionable design recommendations.
  • Support projects by making sure UX work helps improve how digital tools perform and how easy they are for employees to use.
  • Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and delivery teams to shape user stories, requirements, and design strategies that reflect real user needs.
  • Apply best practices in digital accessibility and inclusive design to ensure solutions are usable by all colleagues, including those with disabilities or long-term conditions.
  • Champion the role of UX and human-centred design within cross-functional teams and help build understanding of how AI can support research, design, and decision-making.
  • Contribute to the refinement of the organisation's digital experience strategy, particularly in how emerging technologies (e.g. prompt-to-code tools, generative AI research synthesis) are adopted within UX workflows.
  • Lead or contribute to experience reviews of digital products and services, using a mix of design critique, behavioural insights, and AI-augmented analysis.
  • Help manage our internal design system as well as design systems provided by SaaS platform vendors, ensuring UX guidelines and reusable patterns support consistent, user-friendly digital experiences.
  • Work closely with analytics teams to understand user behaviour and usage patterns, using data to inform and improve design decisions.
  • Ensure UX practices comply with data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements, especially when using AI tools in design workflows.
  • Represent UX in senior leadership forums, turning user insights into strategic discussions and helping to grow design maturity within the organisation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Proven experience as a UX practitioner working across research, products and service design in complex, enterprise or workplace environments.
  • Skilled in applying human-centred design (HCD) principles to digital products and services, including user research, mapping (various), information architecture, prototyping, and iterative testing.
  • Hands-on experience integrating AI tools into the UX process, such as using GenAI for research analysis, prompt-to-code tools for rapid prototyping, or agentic design assistants for ideation and documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead or contribute to large-scale UX programmes, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including developers, analysts, and stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity in early-stage projects, with a strong ability to define and prioritise user and business needs.
  • Sound understanding of accessibility standards (e.g. WCAG) and how to apply inclusive design principles throughout the design and delivery lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Lean UX delivery environments and how UX integrates into iterative product development cycles.
  • Familiarity with UX metrics and methods for tracking design impact, such as CSAT, usability scores, or adoption rates.
  • Experience working with internal tools and enterprise platforms (e.g., Figma, Miro, ServiceNow, SAP, Microsoft 365).
  • Experience working across global teams or multi-location environments, with sensitivity to cultural and accessibility considerations.
